This year, the CCC will recommend to the government whether and how international shipping and aviation emissions should be included in New Zealand’s 2050 emissions target. We strongly support this.
Drawing on our previously published research, which analysed the flight emissions of international visitors to the Queenstown Lakes District, we advocated for a methodology that would count flight emissions to/from travellers’ final airports.
